Kathy Griffin is perhaps best known by her fans for her starring role as “Vicki” on NBC’s “Suddenly Susan”, co-starring Brooke Shields. Suddenly Susan aired for four years, from 1996-2000. Kathy played the role of Vicki Groener Rubenstein, Brooke Shield’s neurotic fiery redhead co-worker. Each week, Kathy would steal the show with her sassy remarks.

Kathy was once asked how she felt about always being a co-star and never getting a shot at being the main performer in a sitcom or movie. Her response was: "I like being the best friend, the sidekick. You go in, you get your laughs, you go out. The stuff that I see stars going through is so unappealing to me. The dark side, the fact that you can't go anywhere, the tabloids. Brooke hates being in the tabs."
